THE PROJECT IN SUMMARY
To launch a centre for education and art-education for vulnerable minors or those facing educational poverty in Pietralata (Rome) with the realization of different artistic workshops.
THE PROJECT IN DETAIL
To foster the psycho-physical well-being and cognitive, emotional and relational potential of the beneficiaries; to promote the development of personal abilities and self-esteem; to strengthen the connection between the community and the families of the youths involved by supporting their socialization and inclusion.
Approximately 200 vulnerable Italian and foreign minors (11-17 years old) who are at high risk of dropping out of school.
The “RI-CREA” project aims to launch in Pietralata an educational and art-educational centre for minors in the XXV Aprile Sporting Centre, an historical compound in the quarter, managed by the Liberi Nantes Association, which is the main partner of the project and has, since 2007, been promoting social inclusion and the respect and valorization of differences.
The project foresees the realization of 4 artistic workshops a week for a total of 10 months: theatre (twice a week for 6 hours); plastic and figurative arts, design and painting (once a week for 3 hours); photography/video (once a week for 3 hours); and music-rhythm education, preparatory musical education and dance (twice a week for 6 hours with 2 operators). Various techniques are used for the artistic activities to attract the youths of the Centre and, at the same time, reinforce the necessary integration within the families and the community to support scholastic education in order to prevent the more vulnerable youths from dropping out of school. Music is proposed as a universal language involving various musicians or dancers to enable the youths to experiment with these arts in their various forms, providing maximum space for creativity and the imagination of each individual, also stimulating body expression through dance classes in the forms more popular with the youths (rap, breakdance, etc.).
