To launch a centre for education and art-education for vulnerable minors or those facing educational poverty in Pietralata (Rome) with the realization of different artistic workshops.
THE PROJECT IN DETAIL
Objectives
To foster the psycho-physical well-being and cognitive, emotional and relational potential of the beneficiaries; to promote the development of personal abilities and self-esteem; to strengthen the connection between the community and the families of the youths involved by supporting their socialization and inclusion.
Beneficiairies
Approximately 200 vulnerable Italian and foreign minors (11-17 years old) who are at high risk of dropping out of school.
Activities
The “RI-CREA” project aims to launch in Pietralata an educational and art-educational centre for minors in the XXV Aprile Sporting Centre, an historical compound in the quarter, managed by the Liberi Nantes Association, which is the main partner of the project and has, since 2007, been promoting social inclusion and the respect and valorization of differences.
In 2023, this project foresees the realization of 3 artistic workshops: photography, art and theatre.
The photography workshop is divided into two parts: (1) photographic story-telling: a course based on photographic techniques, prevalently technical-practical; (2) from photo-journalism to creative reporting: illustrating the steps necessary to produce and publish a photographic project.
The artistic workshop is conducted by Informadarte, an Association headquartered in Pietralata and active since 1996. It entails weekly meetings of 2 hours each during which participants work with graphic illustrations and texts created and written by the same middle school students under the guidance of an Italian teacher.
The theatre workshop is conducted by the Libera-mente Association, active for more than 10 years in Pietralata. It is structured like a play-training course using physical techniques and improvisation, including mime and body expression.
In 2022, the project was undertaken in partnership with Sanità di Frontiere, which provided photography, visual arts and theatre workshops.
