A corpi liberi

A corpi liberi is a project that involves the women who frequent the Spazio Donna San Basilio, experimenting with different artistic languages that share an emphasis on putting the body front and center. The workshops enables the women to restore an accepting and loving relationship with their bodies, which is a privileged entry point to getting into contact, expressing and re-elaborating their emotions and experience.

The project entails an improvisational theater workshop lasting 9 months with weekly meetings that encompass the entire program, during which time theater is not the final result. The aim is not to develop actors but a means to discover themselves, increase their self worth and their positive potential.

Along with the theater workshop, Spazio Donna offers workshops in different artistic languages that, while sharing a common mold, put into play multiple forms of expression and abilities to facilitate as much as possible the participation of people who are different from each other in terms of age, culture, provenance and individual education. In 2025, these workshops are proposed: contemporary dance (5 meetings over 5 week-ends); pole dance (3 meetings over 3 week-ends); portraiture and song writing (6 weekly meetings and one in study). In 2024, these workshops were proposed: dance theatre (3 meetings in 3 weekends); vocal expression (5 meetings in 5 weekends); portrait and photographic self-portrait (4 meetings in 2 weekends)

At the end of the activities, the works produced are exhibited during public events in order to share with the quarter and the city the workshop products, to be held both inside Spazio Donna and in other important places in the quarter.
