Activities
A corpi liberi is a project that involves experimenting with different artistic languages for the women who frequent the Spazio Donna San Basilio and share the fact of being instruments that put the body at the center. These workshops enable the women to re-establish a relationship of acceptance and love with regards to their own bodies. They act as a privileged portal to enable them to come into contact with, express and re-elaborate their emotions and their lives. The project foresees a weekly workshop in improvisational theater that last 9 months and frames the entire experience. Here, theater is not an end; the aim is not to prepare actors but to provide a means by which to discover oneself, build self-esteem and one’s positive potential.
Along with the theatrical workshop, Spazio Donna proposes workshops in various languages that, while sharing a common denominator, provide space for multiple expressions and capacities that facilitate as much as possible the participation of people who are of different ages, cultures and levels of training: dance theater (3 meetings in 3 week-ends); vocal expression (5 meetings in 5 week-ends); and photographic portraits and self-portraits (4 meetings in 2 week-ends). At the end, these works will be exhibited at public events that are held in the neighborhood and the city in order to share the works that have been created, both at the Spazio Donna and in other important venues in the area.
