Beneficiairies

Approximately 100 teachers, educators and artists each year (training)
Activities
The Keep it Real project was developed starting with an Exchange (2022/23) and Research (2023) project that was born of the need to bring together artists, educators and associations to compare and discuss ways to prevent educational poverty going beyond simple tutoring but via an upgrade of social resources and experience. The project found Hip-Hop to be the ideal informal socio-educational environment that, with its artistic and creative language, is capable of combining current needs – relational, educational, training and socialization – in the context of fighting educational inequality.
AP has drawn up a detailed map of the reality achieved by educational activities tied to Hip-Hop, identifying centers in the territory that are useful to coordinate needs and co-plan actions, and has coordinated a first, general structure for theoretical elaboration and practical programming of activities.
The first year of a three-year project began in September 2024 to experiment a strategic alliance between associations, territories, universities and artists, aiming to prove empirically the efficacy and efficiency of Hip-Hop as an educational instrument through direct experience in the field (rap workshops), educational reflections and research in the field.
The project is based on a wide and capable partnership: AP, the Maestri di Strada Association, the FormattArt Association, the Caracò Association and the Le Strade di Casa Social Cooperative. With many highly qualified professionals, the partnership will work in synergy with the schools involved, and in the connected educational and cultural centers.
