To foster the development of a consciousness of self through the management of one’s feelings and relationships with others
Beneficiairies
8 youths being held at the Nisida IPM, and approximately 20 students in school in Naples
Activities
The project foresees activities in social theatre for a mixed group of prisoners and students in school in Naples. During the first phase, the workshop involves 8 prisoners and 8/10 students whereby theatrical techniques form the basis for activities relative to important themes such as: respecting the law, legality and others. During these meetings it is intended that the participants learn about and decodify social theatre in order to give space to new languages and techniques used to carry theatre beyond live performance.
Subsequently, two educational meetings will be carried out in 5 schools in order to create a jury of students in the schools involved. At the end of this phase, the students, accompanied by their teachers and other professionals along with the prisoners, will see a performance by a professional theatrical company, putting their training into focus.
Finally, the prisoners and students of the schools involved will take part in the jury for the “Destini incrociati IN VIDEO” competition realized in collaboration with the National Coordination of Theatre in Prisons, a network of associations and entities involved in making and seeing theatre throughout Italy.
The themes dealt with in the project by the students in school and the young prisoners are developed and finalized in a video production or theatrical performance.
The results of the work of the jury will be presented on the occasion of the Marano Raggi Spot Festival, a national and international exposition of social communication, and at the ninth national theatre in prison exposition “Destini incrociati” in Pesaro (November 2023)
