THE PROJECT IN DETAIL
Objectives
To promote a culture of inclusion capable of giving voice and conscious attention and involvement to people who live daily with disabilities and social disadvantages.
Beneficiairies
3 disadvantaged actors sent to the Academy of the Arts of Diversity by Social Services.
Activities
The Academy of the Arts of Diversity maintains that the integration and inclusion of disadvantaged people must be considered a cultural issue and, to this end, works to make theatrical and artistic activities for disadvantaged people something that is not out of the ordinary. The realization of Dance represents for the Company not only a new theatrical production but a long-term project to train socially disadvantaged actors. “Dance is a theatrical performance – dance, where the characters, prisoners in a room (symbolizing the world) try to give a sense to their lives. They are prisoners of habit and social convention, of a physical and mental space but also of the behavior of others. They attempt to escape, to find a way to identify their own being, their own story, intimate and exclusive. Their fight applauds human vulnerability; it is a song celebrating the opportunity to exist and embody both beauty and astonishment.”.
