Meeting almost by accident…

The project organizes two weekly workshop-courses in plastic-pictorial expression and physical expression/acrobatics for adolescents in trouble or at risk of social marginalization who attend the Tarabella and Cattabrega Youth Centers. Physical expression is also used as a means of social involvement and integration with a group of Rom children and teens from the S. Dionigi camp. The project also includes informal artistic activities for children who hang out in subway stations and parks.

The artistic training is not an end in and of itself; its main value is expressive rather than rehabilitative or educational. Artistic expression overcomes the social invisibility of these youths, and, thanks to the exhibition of their work, results in their being heard and seen in a way often denied them. The team, composed of artists with social competencies, embodies in a transcultural way personal experiences and artistic techniques by listening and giving value to the potential of every single child.
