Activities
LIBERA(R)TE is a project that enables the women who frequent the Spazio Donna to experiment with different artistic languages as a means to come into contact, express and re-elaborate their emotions and experiences. The artistic works become a means of expression and communication of one’s interior world, and a way to give form, recognition and sharing of one’s experience.
In 2023, the project foresees the realization of a workshop in improvisational theatre lasting 9 months with weekly attendance, which frames the entire artistic path. In this course, theatre is not the final goal, which is not to train actors but as a means to discover oneself, increase one’s self-esteem and positive potential. Along with this workshop, Spazio Donna is providing other 3 intensive workshops in photography and visutal arts, drawing and poster art, and the Japanese art of Kintsugi (the repair of ceramics).
At the end of the artistic path, the works are exhibited in various places of San Basilio to create public and free moments of contact with art.
The project follows the activities begun in 2022 with “Incontri con donne straordinarie” (meetings with extraordinary women), a participatory project for the construction of a pop-up museum inspired by the model created by Nina Simon, ex-director of the Museum of Art and History in Santa Cruz, California
