To put the theme of social inclusion on the local, national and international political agenda by disseminating good practice
Beneficiairies
65 young participants, among whom migrants, and the professionals of the associations involved
Activities
Crossroads is a European programme to share cultural practices to integrate migrants and those requesting asylum, and involves 6 partners: Teatro Magro (Mantova, Italy); Asinitas (Rome, Italy); Babel (Palermo, Italy); Medeber Theatre (Belgium); Sozial Label (Germany); and S.Mou.Th – Synergy of Music Theatre (Greece).
Born from the experience of the successful Incroci project (an exchange supported by AMI in 2020-21) and culminating in participation at the Santarcangelo di Romagna theatre festival in July 2021 (also with AMI support), the Crossroads project received European financing in the context of the Creative Europe programme.
This project foresees support to two events: an intermediate meeting, scheduled for July 2023 in Palermo, and a final meeting in November 2023 in Brussels.
The intermediate meeting is an in-person exchange between 2/3 representatives of each organization. Following the workshops carried out in their respective territories and the online exchanges between the organizations (see the Interscambio project), the participants of each organization will bring to the European group significant elements of the work undertaken. This meeting is structured like a mini-festival, throughout which sharing material, workshop activities and different events (theatre, music, conferences) take place.
The final event is a meeting at the conclusion of the entire project, involving exchange between the organization professionals to take stock of their work. On this occasion, the results of the project – a documentary and tool kit – will be presented via one or more events open to the general public. Given the high level of the European city, European institutions will also be invited to participate, thus increasing the international recognition of the project
