Activities
Crossroads is a European programme to share cultural practices for the integration of migrants and those requesting asylum involving 6 partners: Teatro Magro (Mantova, Italy); Asinitas (Rome, Italy); Babel (Palermo, Italy); Medeber Theatre (Belgium); Sozial Label (Germany); and S.Mou.Th – Synergy of Music Theatre (Greece). Born from the experience of the successful Incroci project (an exchange supported by AMI in 2020-21) and culminating in participation at the Santarcangelo di Romagna theatre festival in July 2021 (also with AMI support), the Crossroads project received European financing in the context of the Creative Europe programme.
Within the exchange project, each association structures its work with its users at their respective headquarters. Periodically, meetings are held online during which each workshop director proposes to members chosen from the other organizations (3-4 per organization) an abstract of the work carried out to date. This abstract varies depending on the nature of the work: a verbal or written summary, a brief theatrical demonstration, a series of workshop exercises, etc. During the second half of 2023, the workshops are concentrating on the production of the two main results of the project: a documentary and a tool kit. The documentary will be based on the videos produced during the meetings and during the preceding months’ work. The tool kit is a multimedia instrument similar to a manual that gathers all the material produced during the project (link to relevant videos, theoretical elements of consideration, statistics and specialized analyses and interviews)
