Activities
The project foresees a theatrical path aimed at the realization of a production and video that represents the concept of recovery and the importance of early intervention, especially for the age group of the young patients at the Centro Esordi.
The concept of recovery can be expressed as a “taking back of self” and supports thoughts and actions that form part of the development everybody undergoes in building a life that goes beyond illness by accepting a new definition of the sense of self, a new, credible identity. The video-theatrical creative workshop, which deal both with external elements (body, movement and language) and internal ones (analysis of personality and the world of emotion), assumes the characteristics of an interdisciplinary rehabilitative approach capable of gaining access as mediator to the psychological world of the patients, who protect themselves from verbal relationships, acting on individual capacities and perception of self.
The Mariconda Centro Esordi is a residential and day-care structure that houses guests between the ages of 16 and 28 with psycho-behavioral dysfunctions (personality and behavioral disorders and ED) and aims at early intervention on the psychological impacts by limiting to the utmost the risk of their becoming chronic.
The theatrical workshop lasts 6 months with bi-weekly meetings of 2 hours structured in 3 phases. The first phase foresees preparatory exercises aimed at acquiring confidence with theatre, concentrating on the expressive capacities of body, voice and non-verbal language like music, dance and masks. The following phase builds stories inspired by personal experience or themes proposed by the teacher, enabling at the same time indirect work on personal and interpersonal dynamics while keeping within the limits of the distance involved in artistic work. Finally, the third phase concludes with the staging of a production and the shooting of a video
