daSud, CIES and various other associations carry out non-formal education based on creativity, using rap and other instruments of Hip Hop culture as educational methods for adolescents and are today feeling the need to share with each other and offer new creative possibilities for the adolescents with whom they work.
The #KeepItReal project promotes an exchange between these associations and institutions on new formal and non-formal educational models to use as shared action in the educational community at all levels.
In 2022, the project foresaw self-training workshops with exchanges among those working with the two AMI partner associations, daSud and CIES, which concluded with the production of a podcast as well as an editorial and multimedia publication composed via contributions and considerations, interviews, podcasts and short audiovisual contributions.
In September and December 2022, daSud organized two meetings on Hip Hop, Youth and the Peripheries (see research project), two important occasions to meet and exchange experiences disseminated throughout Italy (Rome, Naples, Palermo, Milan, Siena). The second edition of Keep It Real was born of these meetings, and in 2023 intends to work on identifying and connecting the elements that will form a national network based on the Hip Hop approach as an instrument of education and social inclusion, following an exchange between various experiences in order to reflect on best practice and begin to develop innovative educational strategies. At the same time, the project will be disseminated on various platforms (sites, social networks) in order to advertise the activities and results and generate considerations and a network that transcends national boundaries
