Activities
daSud, CIES and other associations carry out informal education based on creativity, both using rap and the instruments of Hip Hop culture as methods and educational paths for adolescents. Today they feel the need to compare and exchange experiences, offering new creative possibilities to the adolescents with whom they work.
The #KeepItReal project promotes an exchange between these associations and the institutions by enabling them to share i regarding new formal and informal educational models to put into practice through the educational community at all levels.
In 2022, the project foresaw workshops of self-training with exchanges among educators and professionals of the 2 AMI partners, daSud and CIES, that came up with a podcast and a literary and multimedia publication made up of contributions and reflections, interviews, podcasts and audiovisual shorts.
In September and December 2022, daSud organized two events on Hip Hop, Youth and Suburbs, an important opportunity of meeting for different experiences throughout Italy (Rome, Naples, Palermo, Milan, Siena). From these meetings, the second edition of the Keep It Real project was born. In 2023 daSud intends to work on the identification and weaving of the nodes that will compose a national network of realities based on the Hip Hop approach as an educational and social inclusion tool, which is followed by a comparison between the various experiences, a reflection on best practices and an attempt to model innovative educational strategies. At the same time, the project is reported on various platforms (site, social), to disseminate the activities and results and start a reflection and a network that goes beyond national borders.
