The XXVI Edition of the Medellín Poetry Festival
The XXVI Edition of the Medellín Poetry Festival The XXVI edition of the International Poetry Festival is being held in Medellín, Colombia, from 18-25 June 2016 – a “symbol of civil resistance through poetry and art against the conflicts threatening the community and children, who are at great risk.”
Various events are foreseen during the Festival involving the beneficiaries of Proyecto Gulliver: children and youth from the violent and degraded outskirts of Medellín, including a poetic theatrical performance inspired by traditional rituals. Also, this year these beneficiaries will become active protagonists of the Festival. Along with reading their own poetry for the public with the international poets that have been invited to the Festival, they will also hold writing workshops for other young participants.
