The realization of workshops at the Casa di Quartiere Marchesi Living Lab of Padua, a hub for active, civic participation where people, groups and associations collaborate to transform a quarter into a dynamic and inclusive neighborhood.
THE PROJECT IN DETAIL
Objectives
To promote the involvement of school-age youths with particular attention on youths risking deviance and dropping out of school, who reside or frequent the quarter for the Casa di Quartiere activities;
To incentivize the creation of a network of solidarity in which the youths involved in the project offer their individual skills to others in the community through volunteer work and the organization of classes/workshops;
To promote the creation of a network of collaboration among the agencies operating in the Casa di Quartiere and the territory.
Beneficiairies
Approximately 50 youths at risk of deviance and dropping out of school and in conditions of vulnerability (13-21 years old).
Activities
Aimed at involving the adolescents of the Arcella quarter, the project foresees support to the realization of workshops (Value of Dress workshop; Dancing Tall; Dance Movement Therapy workshop; Street theater workshop; Illustration and comic strip workshop; Games and Circus Arts workshop; a workshop to create participatory videos; a workshop to sensitize about emotions and relationships; and a photography and social action workshop) at the Casa di Quartiere Marchesi Living Lab.
This space opened in 2022 after a long civic grassroots campaign begun in 2017 by a group of associations and citizens aimed at rehabilitating an old, unused school and a symbolic place for the quarter, which was subsequently added to the approximately 20 buildings of the various associations (the C.O.E.S.A network).
The aim of the associations that are housed there today is to promote the creation of a network of collaboration amongst the agencies working in the Casa, and offering a space in which it is possible for young people to create a network of solidarity and participation in the life of the quarter. The activities have been extended for several months into 2026.
